What is Reiki?
Benefits of Reiki
Distant healing offers the exact same benefits of an in person treatment. Yet, it means you have access to the benefits of a healing session whether you:
- are in a different country or don’t live nearby,
- are close but without transport,
- are housebound through illness etc,
- are working long and unsocial hours,
- looking for support while you are undergoing surgery / treatment
- are looking for support around something that has unexpectedly happened
- you feel that you need healing and cannot wait for my next free appointment
It can be requested for any of the same reasons for which you might come to me for an ‘in-person’ treatment. It is also reported to have been of significant help in coping with highly stressful situations such as surgery, exams, court cases etc, as well as reducing the side-effects of invasive treatments and accelerating recovery from serious illness or surgery.
What happens during the treatment?
At the start of your first session, I will conduct a thorough health, diet and lifestyle consultation. This will involve finding out about any medication that you take, recent operations and illnesses and your reasons for Reiki.
I offer a complete Reiki session to a fully clothed client who is lying on the bed or sitting comfortably supported in the chair depending on the clients preference.
Client will be staying in one position for the duration of the session. I don’t believe in turning clients or shifting their position as Reiki energy will flow to wherever it is needed. I will lay my hands over the body parts approximately 6 inches above the body. The only body parts I will touch are your head and feet.
The session last approximately an hour.
Clients typically leave a Reiki session feeling refreshed. Some feel more tired than usual but this is not something to be worried about as this is the body’s natural healing response. People commonly report a sense if calm, mental clarity and sleeping well after Reiki.
